Robert Reidy, Vice President for Land, Buildings and Real Estate (LBRE) is responsible for
the LBRE organization. LBRE is charged with the oversight of Stanford's 8,180 acres, over 600 major buildings, and a $2.2 billion capital plan.
LBRE is structured around several major departments including:
- Department of Project Management
- Capital Planning and Space Management
- Land Use and Environmental Planning
- Office of the University Architect/Campus Planning and Design
- Facilities Operations
- Real Estate
- Finance and Administration
These departments provide Stanford University with professional expertise and a wide range of technical services that contribute towards the stewardship of Stanford's lands and the excellence of its facilities. The LBRE organization oversees the following areas of responsibility:
- Building and landscape architecture
- Campus circulation, planning and land use
- Capital planning and space management
- Environmental monitoring and energy management
- Events services coordination
- Facilities operations and infrastructure maintenance
- Historic preservation and cultural resources protection
- Parking and transportation programs
- Project and construction management
- Real estate development and management
In addition, LBRE coordinates all land use and entitlements for the various entities that occupy Stanford's endowed lands. These entities include (but are not limited to) Stanford Hospital and Clinics, the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital, the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), the Stanford Research Park, and the Stanford Shopping Center.
